Conformity- <\/strong>change in behavior or belief as a result of real or imagined influence of others Forms:<\/p>\n

  1. Compliance: outwardly going with the group while inwardly disagreeing<\/li>\n
  2. Acceptance: believing as well as acting according to social pressure<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    When we conform:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. Informational social influence:<\/strong> Conform because we see other people as a source of info.<\/li>\n
    2. Normative social influence: <\/strong>Conformity in order to be liked and accepted by others (public compliance without private acceptance)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Informational Social Influence: when?<\/strong><\/p>\n

      1. When situation is ambiguous<\/strong> (most crucial)<\/li>\n
      2. When the situation is a crisis <\/strong>(we panic)<\/li>\n
      3. When other people are experts <\/strong>(we trust experts)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Normative social influence:<\/strong><\/p>\n
