Financial compensation has two components. There is the money granted/loaned to you by OSAP. By indicating on your OSAP that you suffer with a physical or mental disability you will be entitled to more grant funding on your OSAP. To view the outline of your funding contact your OSAP office or visit the Ontario OSAP site for details regarding that.

However, there is also funding you can receive from York University personally. To obtain this, when you talk to your counsellor/health care practitioner they will give you a form to fill out which indicates you would like to receive funding from York. This funding goes towards obtaining mental health care outside of York. This allows an individual to obtain more specialized care in regards to their disability which may be costly otherwise. Such as obtaining physical therapy or a specialized psychiatrist.
